2017 EACME ANNUAL CONFERENCE “JUSTICE IN HEALTH CARE – VALUES IN CONFLICT”

The Borja Institute of Bioethics (Ramon Llull University) and the European Association of Centres of Medical Ethics (EACME) organize the EACME Annual Conference, that will take place in Barcelona on September 7th to 9th, 2017, in the Teaching Department of the Borja Institute of Bioethics (Edifici Docent de Sant Joan de Déu, Esplugues de Llobregat, Barcelona).

The 2017 EACME Annual Conference program will revolve around the main topic Justice in Healthcare – Values in Conflict. THE BORJA INSTITUTE OF BIOETHICS (RAMON LLULL UNIVERSITY) announces the Call for Abstracts for 2017 EACME Annual Conference

People wishing to present a contribution at the 2017 EACME Conference are invited to submit an abstract addressing the main Conference topics (500 words maximum). Extended Abstract submission deadline: March 29, 2017.

Conference Scientific Committee will review all received abstracts and will submit a letter to the presenting author of each abstract the first week of May, communicating the acceptance or not-acceptance of the contribution. In case of acceptance, the letter will also communicate the presentation method (oral communication or poster).

Abstracts should be presented in English, French, Catalan or Spanish language.

40 years using Bioethics side by side with people

This year Borja Institute of Bioethics -URL celebrates its 40th anniversary. It is already the fulfilment of 40 years walking along with people in general, professionals, institutions, and society, for an establishment first in teaching, investigation and diffusion of Bioethics in Europe.

After 40 year of existence, Borja Institute of Bioethics continues being faithful to the idea of his founder, which means faithfulness to academic and scientific rigor, to the spirit of dialogue and compromise with society in accordance with our present time, with a scope of positivisms towards the future. The search for university formation, the results of investigation towards society, innovation and assessment, together with the cooperation among the centers and the institutes dealing in the field of Bioethics around the world, will define our way to the next years to come.

That is why we celebrate with all of you, who have, one way or another, made reality these 40 years. Congratulations for all!

GRANTS TO STUDY ETHICS IN USA
The 2015 Aristos Campus Mundus project, promoted by the Universities of Ramon Llull, Deusto and Comillas, has been awarded the qualification of Campus of International Excellence in the European regional category in the Ministry of Education’s 2011 call for applications. In May of 2010, these universities formed a strategic aggregation to present the 2015 Aristos Campus Mundus project through an advanced strategic cooperation agreement with Georgetown University, Boston College and Fordham University.

The aim of 2015 ACM is to foster excellence in academics and research while achieving full glocalisation of their university projects which call for a joint commitment to responsible and sustainable social innovation.
